The Inter House Team won the 2019 Solar Decathlon Africa held in Morocco this past September. Katie Schneider was the project manager for this team, which designed and built a full-sized, solar-powered house to promote global energy efficiency and sustainability.

Katie Schneider received her Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics last May and is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on thermal-fluid systems, both from Colorado School of Mines. Since 2017, Katie has been the Project Manager of the Inter House Team, a collegiate group who recently competed, and finished 1st place overall, in the 2019 Solar Decathlon Africa in Benguerir, Morocco. The Solar Decathlon is an international competition challenging teams to design, build, and operate full-sized, solar-powered homes. Katie was also the lead engineer and designer of the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system in the winning competition house. Upon graduation in May 2020, Katie hopes to pursue a career in the aerospace industry or patent law.
