Andrew is the president and CEO of Mental Health Colorado, the state’s leading advocate for the prevention and treatment of mental health and substance use disorders. Prior to that, he served in the Colorado House of Representatives from 2001 to 2009 and as Speaker of the House from 2005 to 2009.
A central part of Mental Health Colorado’s mission is to educate the public and reduce the stigma that still surrounds mental illness. We encourage more Coloradans to seek mental health care and to support loved ones who need it. To that end, Andrew has been conducting community presentations—discussing the nature and prevalence of mental illness, the benefits of early intervention, and the consequences of inaction.
